Check French companies in bulk

Last updated: 8 October 2026.

In short

Upload a CSV or Excel file with a column of French SIREN or SIRET numbers. Each line is checked against official French registers, and you download the same spreadsheet enriched with 28 columns: whether the company is active or ceased, its VAT number, declared directors, activity code and insolvency notices. Your first 100 SIREN are free, with no credit card.

Who it is for

  • Buyers and accounts-payable teams of foreign groups whose suppliers are French companies.
  • Accountants and finance teams checking a supplier before paying an invoice or changing bank details.
  • Sales and sales-ops teams cleaning a CRM or prospect list that contains French companies.
  • Compliance teams who need a quick first check of French counterparties.

What you get back

  • Legal status: active or ceased, and the head-office or branch status for each establishment.
  • French VAT number derived from the SIREN.
  • Directors as declared in the national register (RNE), where they are public.
  • Activity (NAF code with its label), headcount band and company category.
  • Insolvency and other collective-procedure notices from the official gazette (BODACC).
  • Optionally, one line per establishment, including closed ones.

Sources: INSEE (Sirene register), INPI (RNE), DILA (BODACC) and INPI financial statements. Companies that have opted out of public disclosure are flagged and show only what the register makes public. The data is reused under the Open Licence 2.0 (Etalab).

How it works

  1. Try one number first: the free SIRET check needs no account (the page is in French; paste a SIREN or SIRET).
  2. Create an account and upload your file. Only a column of SIREN or SIRET numbers is required.
  3. Download the enriched .xlsx when the check is finished. Files are deleted within 7 days and hosted in the European Union.

Pricing

Prices are net: VAT is not applicable (French small-business exemption, article 293 B of the tax code). No commitment for monthly plans.

Questions

What is a SIREN number?
A SIREN is the 9-digit identifier every business registered in France receives from INSEE, the national statistics institute. A SIRET has 14 digits: the SIREN plus a 5-digit code for one establishment (head office or branch). A French VAT number is "FR", two check digits, then the SIREN.
Does this work for companies outside France?
No. SIREN and SIRET are French identifiers and the registers queried are French. A company registered elsewhere will not be found.
Is the service available in English?
This page is. The application itself is currently in French: menus and the downloaded spreadsheet use French column names.

Known limits

  • French companies only. The application interface and the spreadsheet column names are in French.
  • The check reports what public registers show on the day of the check. It is not legal advice and does not assess solvency.
  • There is no public API yet.
